Tension Headaches and Migraines
Treatment for Headaches and Migraines
The use of Botulinum toxin for the treatment of tension headache and migraine has been reported in several clinical studies in recent years. The benefits were discovered by accident in patients having Botulinum toxin injections to smooth lines and wrinkles, who reported significant reduction in the severity and frequency of headaches.

Botulinum toxin is administered with a very fine needle into the forehead muscles. It relaxes these muscles and so helps relieve tension headache and migraine.

The treatment takes approx 15 minutes, and the benefits can last 4-5 months. The side effects are slight temporary redness at the injection sites and occasional minor bruising.
